Students stared as they watched Hikaru walk into the cafeteria. It was a rare site to behold, since she never ate in the cafeteria. Most wondered if she even ate at all, being a vampire and what not. What they didn't know was that she was only half empathic vampire, and that required her to eat regular food. Usually, she would just buy food to stash in her room and study through lunch. But, today was a nice day that required no studying, and it was pizza day. Hikaru was a sucker for cheese stuffed crust supreme with garlic flavored crust, and she'd probably do just about anything for a slice.
Standing in line, she grabbed two slices of the prized pizza along with a bottle of fruit punch Powerade. She'd rather just drink some tea or water, but the cafeteria didn't sell the brand of water she bought. There were 3 or 4 vending machines filled with Dasani and none with Ice Mountain. She'd have to make a call to her father to remedy the situation. Coming up to the cash register, she pulled her wallet out of her back pocket and paid the lady who was just as shocked as the students.
She replaced her wallet as she walked towards the back of the cafeteria, looking for an empty table. Students cleared her path as she made her way through, mixed looks of fear, astonishment and jealousy on their faces. She was one of the first students to attend this school and had been in a few fights since then. Only a few knew of her psychic powers, but that didn't start the rumors from flying. No one wanted to mess with her, and her friendship with Araka did not help the situation. She found an empty table and sat down as she picked up a slice of pizza. Yum.

Most students didn't even know that Shane was a enrolled at this very school. Yes, he went to all his classes, and yes he wore the uniform. But no one had ever seen him at one of the largest social times of the day, lunch. Shane had always tried to stay away from the cafeteria as he found it hard to socialize with others. It was that he was ugly or anything, growing up he never had to many friends and he was always scared of being rejected.
As Shane pushed the doors open his ears began to ring from all the noise. People talking, laughing, yelling. He had never heard so much of it. Shane clenched as he walked towards the line up. The noise continued he could hear girls talking about boys, and boys talking about sex, and the nerd talking about d & d. A smile crossed his face as all of this seemed so pathetic to him as well as new.
Shane grabbed a bottle of water and two apples. As he paid he noticed several people look and snicker. "You would almost think i had a kick me sign on my back." Shane thought. Shane fought his way through the groups of students to soon find that only a few tables in the back of the cafeteria were free.
"Holy Shit!" Shane shouted as a boy from a near by group tripped him. Shane hit the ground hard, one apple hitting him in the shoulder and landing on his water bottle. The other apple had shot towards one of the back tables were a girl was sitting. Shane watched in fear as it hit the table and hit the girl. He got up and walked over to the table. "I'm so sorry." Shane said to the girl as he noticed it wasn't just another girl. There was something different about this girl it wasn't just how perfect she looked, it was something much deeper.
~I'm guessing that theres a uniform?? if not let me fix this first ok =)

Hikaru felt it before it happened. There was a louder than usual commotion and laughter, then a shout directed her way. The air shifted, and she raised her arm up as an apple hit the table and bounced off at her, landing perfectly against her palm. She lifted her head as the cafeteria went silent, pizza hanging precariously between her lips. It was like they were waiting for her reaction; bunch of animals. She wasn’t going to commit murder over an apple. Jeez.
Letting the pizza fall back onto her plate, she stood and pushed her chair in. There was a breeze flowing through the open cafeteria doors, ruffling her skirt as she made her way towards the emo-looking boy on the ground just meters away. He must have been the owner of the apple. Her brow was furrowed as he shot up and raced towards her, stopping a few feet away. She heard his apology, but made no move to acknowledge it. After all, she did have a reputation to uphold.
Producing the apple, she placed it in his hand. “Be careful. Next time, I won’t be so lenient.” She then turned around and walked back to her table, picking up her water bottle and remaining pizza. It was a bright, sunny day, and her destination was clear as she exited through the open doors. Once she was out of site, all the tension in the room vanished, and a quiet murmur took its place. A boy leaned towards him and spoke quietly. “You are extremely lucky. She has broken arms for less.”

Shane watched as the girl left the room. He picked himself up, grabbed his things and began to walk toward the door. Before he got to far he could hear a small group snickering, as he looked over he noticed the boy that tripped him. Shane stood there for a second, rolling the apple around in his hand. With a flick of the wrist the apple flew from his hand in a blur, smacking the kick right in the face. You could hear something shatter in his face. Shane look at the others around the group, his eyes a brilliant blue in the sunlight. "Someone get the nurse." shouted one of the students.
Shane left the room as the boy was crowed around by the fellow student body. Shane booked it down the hall hopping to catch up with the girl. There was something about her, something that just pulled him towards her. "Have you see a girl come by here?" Shane asked one of the students. "Ya alot of girls, its a school stupid." the boy replied. Shane looked at the guy "Ummmm, purple hair and about this tall."Shane said as he held his hand to the rough height of this girl. The guy look at Shane, "You got a death want man?" he said. Shane look at him "Just tell me did she go this way?"."Ya she went down the hall". Shane booked it down the hall trying to catch up with this girl. The lest he could do was thank her, and find out what pulled him to her.

Hikaru was no idiot; she expected the chatter that erupted after that performance. The students, and some teachers, expected that sort of thing from her, and she was never one to disappoint. Most of them feared her for some reason or another, and sometimes it bothered her that she couldn’t make friends easily, apart from Araka, Lucia and Cheshire, but they could never hang together at the same time. Being around Ara was proving to be troublesome, unless she was feeding, and Haru was still mulling over her sexuality when it came to the violent girl. She knew she wanted the male gender; that was obvious. But she still found herself attracted to Ara whenever they were together. It was getting hard to feed from her without becoming aroused.
Walking down the halls, she ran her fingers along the wall. Maybe once she lost her virginity, everything would become clear. Yes, the carefree, flirtatious, fearless girl was still a virgin, waiting for the right guy to come along. But, that pact was starting to wear her thin. There were so many she was attracted to, and if it weren’t for that little barrier, she would have taken a few of them on a test ride. Aside from her inner slut, Hikaru just wanted to find love.
Her inner reverie was broken as she heard a frantic question coming from behind her. Purple hair, yay tall…that boy was looking for her? This was a first. When things like this happened, the person usually stayed far away from her and didn’t spare her a second glance. It could be a chance for her to make a new friend, someone to turn to when she needed them. Stopping in her tracks, she felt the boy’s presence closing in on her. He was just a few short feet away when she called out, “Looking for something?”

Something clicked inside Shane as he heard this voice, this voice full of strength and power but still soft like an angels. Shane turned around on the ball of his foot. Shane's face lite up a bit, even though he didn't have many friends and he was part of the Rasen Cult it didn't mean he wouldn't like to meet someone new. Shane decided it would be best to at lest thank this girl for not beating him as he may be strong but her powers towered of his. Maybe he will have to thank that human boy after all even though he probably wouldn't be to happy to see Shane.
"Umm, hi." Shane said with a small smile. " I just felt like i needed to thank you properly for what you did. Well i mean, what you didn't do." Shane said as he began to feel nerves. This was actually really hard for Shane, as he was always the one left out of the social part of school. "And I'm really sorry for that apple hitting you." Shane said. All of a sudden it felt rather warm in the hallway, Shane couldn't figure out if it was just him or if the air conditioning was broken. "And I was wondering if ......" Shane said as he trailed off.
