He wasn't asleep though his appearance might fool anyone. Just relaxing. Besides, the pain seemed to end quicker when you relaxed. He noticed Araka wake up without even having to look at her. He listened as she went for her cake and receeded back to her bed. Then she silenced. He imagined she was eating. His thoughts went to the subject. For him, it was a bit strange what people ate. Cake for instance. The smell made him a bit sick. He had no idea why. The sweetness of the soft dessert. While it has become a sort of drug for most, he found it sickening. But then again, most people found what he drank a little sickening as well. He supposed it was just a vampire thing.
Moments later, he was brought back to reality by her voice. He didn't move though. Just listened. Awakening the burning did not sound to appealing to him. He noted she did not sound as drunken as she had before. Looked like he might be losing his bet. Oh well. It wasn't like he hadn't lost money to her before. She still owed him a large amount of money. He never asked for it though. He only carried it because it was there and she made good use of it.
He chuckled. Like he had a choice watching her? She dragged him here. Still, he took the thank-you, satisfied. Though her words were forceful, he took them as praise. It felt good to be of some use. Due to his weaknesses, he rarely got the chance to actually prove himself of value. Still, she kept him close for reasons he had yet to understand.
"Your welcome," he simply replied. Daichi then decided to risk the burning. He lifted himself up and stood to his feet. The heat from the burns quickly coming back in such force it caused him to wince. He tried to ignore it though. It would end sooner or later. He looked back down to her, expecting something comment from her. She hated his weakness to sunlight and often ranted about it. For this reason, she had her other trusty. The demon. This other trusty usually brought on jealousy from Daichi. But he kept these emotions hidden so no one ever found out.
