Toshiro was known to be one of the most harsh of all the teachers. It was quite understandable since he was in fact a demon. And once irritated, these creatures could have quite a temper. One of his peeves like all other teachers was students sleeping during class. The students who had him the previous year were wise enough to keep awake. They knew the consequences. Those new to the school were not so lucky. He expected quite a few mistakes this year. History class was known to put students to sleep. Or atleast it was before.
The demon sat at his large desk, tapping his fingers on the stained wood with a smirk gracing his lips. The tapping made upon the desk echoed through the empty class room. It was early. School hadn't even begun yet. But it was unprofessional for the teacher to arrive late. Well that wasn't the real reason. He just wanted to see if any new students would happen to show early. He highly doubted it but you never knew. His lesson for today was merely talking about wars. These wars were recorded by humans and hadn't quite gotten close to what really happened. Monsters had a few things that helped or even worsened the wars. But the government warned against it. Perhaps they feared that the human students would be frightened by the true stories. Oh well. It didn't bother him too much.
His blood red eyes glared down to the watch around his wrist. '3...2...1.' The bell rang, alerting the students it was time for school. He stopped his tapping and listened outside his room for any students that may be close. "And so the game begins," he chuckled darkly to himself.

Yuki had been woken up way too early for her liking. Five thirteen. And guess what else? She had been too into her studies that she hadn't fallen asleep until eleven at night. So, with a little more than six hours of sleep, she barely got dressed, almost putting her socks over her shoes and so on.
Then her demon managed to put all her stuff into her back pack for her...somehow. it was a mystry to Yuki since she had taken a small ten minute nap while her demon prepaired them for her. And he wouldn't tell her how he did it. Or why. She knew he enjoyed most of her pain and misery. Stupid demon.
After that, she was woken abruptly by the sound of a school bell. She shot up out of bed and grabbed her back pack, running for her first class, and probably her least favorite.
By the time she had reached her class, the tardy bell rung and she groaned. This was stupid. It wasn't her fault that she was late. If anything, it was the teachers fault for giving her so much to catch up on, because she had gotten here in the middle of the semester.
"sorry I'm late," she murmered as she dragged herself into class, seating herself at the only open desk. In the front.
Oh joy, could this day get any better?
Of course it could.
Remembering the history paper way due today, she pulled it out of her backpack. But it really sucked when she noticed small doodles and scribbles all over her handwritten assignment. Ah shit.
She crumpled up the paper and tossed it in the waste baslet closest to her, but it didn't make it. She looked at her small, chibi like demon with a harsh glare.

Hikaru was a punctual student who tried her very best to follow the rules. She was up at 5:30, dressed and fed by 5:45, then out the door by 6. She made it to the gym by 6:15 and was suited up and in the pool by 6:30. Swim practice was always her wake up call, and she enjoyed the feel of the water against her body. Of course, it was always too short in her opinion, and she was out of the pool, showered and dressed, and off to class by 7:45. That first bell usually rang right as she entered the main building, and she was pleased to see that she was the first student to enter History class.
Sitting down in the second row, she pulled her History folder out of her bag and opened it to reveal her essay that was due today. It was an interesting assignment, and she worked her very best to cover every aspect. Most would call her a teacher’s pet, but school was the only thing that distracted her from the emotional energies swirling around her. Such a nuisance. She’d have to seek out Araka during break.
Her head leaned back as she stretched her neck, watching as students filled the classroom. She could tell by the look on some of their faces that they had forgotten about the assignment. Hopefully the punishment wouldn’t be too brutal today, as Hayami-Sensai was usually known for. The bell rang in the distance, and she sat up straighter in her seat. What she wasn’t expecting was for the new student to barge in, muttering apologies. She shook her head and waited to see the teacher’s reaxtion.

His eyes flickered to the door at the sound of footsteps. He wondered who it was, but had a feeling he knew already. The door opened and revealed Hikaru. He wasn't surprised to see her enter the class first. She had a schedule for everything and always managed to make it to class on time. He gave the student a simple good morning before looking back to the door. 'Who's next?'
Slowly, the class began to fill and he noted the nervous glances he received from a few of the students. 'Someone forgot their homework,' he thought with a smile. One by one, they continued to come in, ever growing closer to the tardy bell. When it rang, he looked to his class. Fifty-nine students were there. The last empty desk faced him and he chuckled at the thought. No one wanted the hot seat. He was about to start when the door opened again.
His eyes shot at the girl as she apologized for her late arrival. It was one of the new students. Yuki Ootori, a tamer. While he found the girl interesting for her rare status, he could ignore the fact she was late. Not that he would have anyway. It was too much fun. He would wait though, he had plenty of students to deal with this moment by the looks of it anyway. He would save her for last. "Please find a seat, Ms. Ootori."
He listened to the hush of the room for a moment before breaking the silence with his eerily calm voice. "Alright class. First off, I would like to receive your assignments. Please, bring me your papers." He motioned with his hand torwards the area on his desk before him. He would wait till all of them passed in the History papers before continuing. He wanted to see who actually did their work.

Yuki was too proud of a student to turn in work that was ruined by a small creature demon like the one she was a tamer for. But...if he had ruined it, it could be used as an excuse, right? No, it couldn't... she was his tamer. If she couldn't control him, then it was her problem, not the teachers.
She bit her lip as other students stood up to turn in their papers. Then she eyed her demon, who sat at the edge of her desk. Stupid demon. But she might as well tell the teacher she wasn't going to turn it in today. Maybe she'd have less of a punishment if she was honest. So she stood up, feeling the butterflies in her stomach. Her demon flew up from the desk, hovering above her head.
At the teacher's desk, she beganvto ramble: "Hi, um... I did do my assignment, sir. I promise, but my demon here doodled all over it! I didn't want to turn in such a horribly presented paper, sit. I mean, I could give it to you and you could dock my grade ten points, or something. Or I could rewrite it during lunch, or I could do some afterschool detention, though I personally wouldn't want to do that.
You see, sir, I'm a very advid runner so I run a lot after school. Oh my gosh, that would mean i'd have to do without some of my running. Please, sir, don't make me do after school detention."
She could feel other student stares at her. Had she rambled tto much? Did she speak too loud? Oh great, now she looked stupid.
You look stupid, her demon said, as if having read her mind.
She turned to her demon, pointing at it with her right index finger. "hey don't add anything! This is all your fault, you know."
I actually don't know anything, he said deviously.
Unfortunatly, for Yuki, she was the only one that could and understand him, so it didn't help her image as she yelled at the non responding chibi demon.

Hikaru wanted to feel bad for the new girl, she really did. But in a school like this, that type of weakness could get you killed. Besides, she had been living in the dorms for a while now, so she had had enough time to memorize what time school started. Maybe she could discreetly give her a hand, maybe take the girl under her wing, so to speak. It would do some good for her to learn her way around in order to avoid trouble.
As Hayami-Sensei called for everyone to turn in their homework, she hung back and waited for the majority to get up there first. It wouldn’t do for someone to bump her and knock her papers all over the floor. Then there’d be hell to pay. Hikaru took school very seriously, and not only for the fact that it distracted her from feeding. With every ‘A’ she earned, her father placed $1,000 into her bank account for her to live off of, and $2,000 into her savings account for college. She really wanted to go to college outside of Kaijuu, and if she earned enough money, she could create a new identity for herself and hide that she’s a monster. She wasn’t ashamed of it, but she didn’t want to be killed either.
Slowly rising and pushing her seat in, Hikaru walked to the front of the class to turn in her essay. Everyone else had been seated by now, and the new girl was rambling out an excuse to Hayami-Sensei. She placed a hand on the girl’s shoulder and placed the folder on the stack as she whispered into her ear, “Don’t bother. You should have just turned it in, doodles and all.” She swiftly turned around and returned to her seat, a ghost of a smile on her face.

He watched as the students made their way to his desk, dropping off their own papers and watching warily for any signs of irritation. They knew what happened when he was angered and sure he had been reported about it at one time but the students usually done so well they kept him anyway.
The papers kept coming till one student just stopped at his desk apparently wanting his attention. He looked up at her and her demon with a raised brow. He didn't even have to ask what she wanted for she began quite quickly. Her ramblings went on for a while and finally came to an end with a plea. He looked to the demon somewhat believing her tale. They were mischiveous. But being a demon tamer, she should be able to control it right? Atleast that's what he thought it meant. Perhaps she needed a bit of training. But whatever the reason, she still needed a punishment and he was sure to give it.
It confused him when the girl began screaming at the demon, telling him to shut up. He'd heard nothing unfortunately and frowned. He didn't like being left out like this.
He was about to reply when he noticed Hikaru whispering in Yuki's ear. She was most likely giving her some advice of sorts. He grinned at the thought. It was amusing to see how his students knew him so well.
Toshiro looked back to Yuki. He would have enjoyed punishing her then and there but was forced not to. He had a lesson to teach. "We will discuss the matter after class. Till then, please return to your seat." His voice sounded a bit darker. He grabbed the papers he had been given and put them in his desk for later inspection. For now, he had to teach.
"Alright class. Let us begin todays lesson. We will be talking about the wars that brought us to where we are today. The wars that have given and taken away. Today we will discuss the Sino-Japanese War." He continued speaking of the war. How China and Japan fought over for control of Korea. It was quite difficult to keep monster influence out but managed.

"Oh! Um, yes, sir," Yuki said with a respectful bow before returning to her seat in the front. She took out a note book and pencil. Taking notes was always a good thing to do. Unless you had a really good memory for details and such. But since yuki didn't have that, notes were her only option.
The she realized that her demon wasn't with her at the desk. Her head whipped wildly as she searched for her demon. God, some tamer she was. Now where was he? Damn, she could get in some serious trouble if he did something bad.
Then she managed to spot him behind the teacher. She gasped...A little to loud for being in the front row.
Her hand dropping to her side and then she did a jerking back motion with her fist and it came her way quickly, acidently zooming past the teacher. Catching her demon, she blushed and stuffed her demon into her backpack.
Damn, she was really going to be in some serious trouble later.

At Hayami-Sensei’s start, Hikaru pulled a notebook out of her bag that was strictly for History class, with a dark blue cover and a silver spiral that kept the pages together. She usually made a fuss about keeping each subject separate, especially since she took so many notes, and she had a full schedule to keep track of. Her whole day would be ruined if she managed to grab the wrong notebook when preparing for class.
Continuing to take notes, she let her attention drift to the new girl for a moment. Hopefully Hayami-Sensei wouldn’t be too harsh on her. After all, she was just getting used to the harsh environment of Kaijuu High, and she didn’t want the girl to leave before she got a chance to learn her name. This was Hikaru’s third year in the school, so she knew what went on behind closed doors, especially if no one bothered to care. The summer before her first year had been the worst, and it seasoned her for what to expect upon entering the school. She had been in numerous fights, with girls as well as guys, all trying to turn her into their bitch. Quite the opposite happened, and no one crossed her again.
Hikaru glanced down at her notebook and noticed that her handwriting was a little off. She was writing at an odd angle. Straightening the note book out, she made a sour face and continued to take notes on the lecture. Studying later was going to prove to be hard. After track practice, she’d have to re-take down the notes she screwed up while daydreaming. Of course, the reverie caused her to miss the little demon flying across the room.

Toshiro was cut short by a gasp from Yuki. He raised a brow and stared for a moment before continuing. He felt something pass him but gave it no attention. He figured it was the girls demon considering he hadn't seen it when she gasped. There was going to be a lot to discuss after class.
He rose from his seat as he continued the story and walked to the front of his desk, pacing the area between his desk and the front row like a caged lion. He watched the classas they jot down their notes like the obedient students he expected them to be. That is, till he noticed one child in the back row asleep. The demon's eyes narrowed and within a flash, he appeared at the students side. He leaned in to the child's ear, emitting a low growl that startled the boy to reality. "I don't think sleeping through class is going to help your grades. Don't fall asleep in my class. Or suffer the consequences..." The last bit of advice he whispered with a smirk. He lifted up and walked back to his desk, leaning on it as he looked back over the class, continuing his lesson as if nothing happened.
After a while, he finally got to the final part of his lesson. "And that concludes our lesson for today." Once the words were spoken, the bell rang. "Class is dismissed." Toshiro then turned his full attention onto the demon tamer. "Now please explain to me once again what happened."
